Mahjong is one of the oldest tabletop games in history. The game originated in Ancient China and has survived to this day due to its simple rules. Microgaming has used the principles of this Chinese classic in the Mahjong Exchange slot machine, which can be played for free and without registration at the Gaming Club.
The first thing that stands out in the game is how similar the interface is to a roulette wheel – there is a great similarity in the table layout and setup. Instead of a wheel, however, players will see 34 tiles lying face down. Players can make bets on various ones of them, covering a range of outcomes. The board is also marked with two fields: one with the number 1 and the other with the letter x.
To start a round, players must double–click one of the tiles on the board and place it in the cell marked with the number 1. Then they must place a chip on the cell they believe will match the revealed tile. As in roulette, chips can be placed on one or a range of tiles. At first, the values and symbols on the rectangles may seem quite convoluted, but actually recognizing and distinguishing between them takes no time at all.
Regarding bonus features in its regular form – there are none in the game. However, there is one important feature of the process that adds a bit of spice to the game round.
When the player has chosen a tile and placed a chip on the board, they are given two options before they flip it over. One of them is to simply show their tile and see how the round ends, and the other is to exchange the tile for another one from the pile. If they do that, then it will be the card on which the chip is placed.
Although this feature may seem simple, it really adds excitement to the game. Thus, the Mahjong Exchange slot machine allows players to tempt fate and take risks before they know if luck is on their side or not. What makes the round even more enticing – if you decide to exchange your tile, your regular one will still remain in place and be revealed at the end.
