Brazil wants to legalize casinos for the first time in 80 years

Brazil has decided to take an important step by legalizing the sports betting and land-based casino market.

Politicians who advocate for the legalization of gambling in the country say that it could bring in billions. In particular, they believe that Brazil will receive up to 20 billion reais ($4 billion) annually, thanks to land-based casinos and betting. And it will also be able to open more than 650 thousand jobs, providing people with the opportunity to earn money.

The corresponding bill must be approved by the majority of parliamentarians. In this case, in Brazil they can build casino resorts similar to Las Vegas.

Recall that the issue of sports betting has already been considered by the Senate of the country. It was considered for more than a year, because former President Jair Bolsonaro was against the legalization of this area. But now politicians are determined to make some changes in gambling.

At the moment, any form of gambling is prohibited in the country, except for state lotteries and bets on horse racing. At the same time, slot machines that are banned are widely popular among local residents.
